THE YORKSHIRE REGIMENT GOLF DAY – 21 MAY 2010

1.     The time has come for you to open your Regimental Diaries to start planning your golf for the coming year.  The location for the Regimental Golf Day has been confirmed and it will take place at Harrogate Golf Club on 21 May 2010.  This venue was chosen as it is centrally located in Yorkshire and is easily accessible to all, from all of the Ridings of Yorkshire.  Details of the course, facilities and directions are attached to this letter.

2.     We are limited to the number of participants which has been set by the club at 80.  We will play stableford format off full handicaps.  A number of secondary prizes will be played for; nearest pin, straightest drive, longest drive and 2s. Please complete the attendance return as soon as possible enclosing your cheque for £40, made payable to “The Yorkshire Regiment Benevolent Trust”.  Places will be filled on a first come basis and a waiting list will operate.

3.     You are invited to arrive at the club at 1130hrs for a light lunch and a briefing on the day’s activities, ready for a shotgun start at 1300hrs.  Following play, prize giving will take place and dinner will be served.  The cost for the day includes lunch, golf and dinner, you are requested to bring along a few pounds to bid for a small number of items donated by prominent sporting icons, these items will be auctioned during the evening, with all proceeds being donated to Benevolence.  Jacket and Tie is requested for dinner, but is not compulsory. 

4.     Prizes have been kindly donated by Towergate Wilsons and Ammo and Co, our sincere thanks go to them for their support.
