The story behind the Diaries
The diaries were
handed to me by ex-Green Howard Kev Hudson.
He bought them as plain pocket diaries and
with apparatus; handed down to him from his Dad; he was able to
emboss them with the Green Howards badge.
Kev turned up;
quite unexpectedly, at the Barnsley & Districts GHA Branch meeting
on Wednesday 10th February and handed me twenty-nine diaries.
He asked me to try to sell them and donate the total proceeds to the
2Yorks (Green Howards) serving soldiers welfare and comfort fund.
Kev did not want a
penny for himself!; which in my eyes makes him a very generous
person and a true Green Howard. Thank you Kev.
Kev's Dad, Ken
Hudson, was also a Green Howard and served in Malaya in the
'50's.
So far I have sold
twenty-one of the diaries at £2.50p each; which leaves me with
eight diaries left for sale. These will be sold on a
first come first served basis.
If you would like to be
a owner of one, or more, of these remaining diaries, please email me
with your order and your home address. I will send you your
diary along with my home address, so that you can send me your
cheque. Don't worry about the postage, that'll be my
contribution to our Brave Lads an' Lasses.

The whole £2.50 (or more if
you'd like to donate more) goes to our serving Green Howards!
